Fortios 7.6: The end of the SSLVPN era

SSLVPN Fortios 7.6

After years of Fortinet’s SSLVPN solution on the market, which featured high performance and the use of TLS . Fortinet has announced the following in the FortiOS 7.6 release notes

  • Models with less than 2Gb of RAM will not support SSLVPN in FortiOS 7.6.
  • The SSLVPN GUI menu will disappear in all models and be configurable uniquely through the CLI in the 7.6 version.

With this decision, a period of transition from SSLVPN to IPSEC-based RAVPN begins.

The affected models include:

FGT-40F/FWF-40F and variants
FGT-60E/FWF-60E and variants
FGT-61E/FWF-61E and variants
FGT-60F/FWF-60F
FGT-61F/FWF-61F
FGT-80E and variants
FGT-81E and variants
FGT-90E
FGT-91E
FGR-60F and variants (2GB versions only)
